Culinary All-Stars Fire Up Their Woks For The Largest Asian Food Festival in North America. The Taste Asia Food Fest makes its grand return to New York City for a second installment. The month long celebration honors the deep culinary arts of Asian and Asian-inspires cuisine and flavors. Starting seven years ago, Taste Asia began in a single Manhattan restaurant, where the first International Chinese Culinary Competition was held. Today, Taste Asia has grown into the largest Asian food festival in North America with over five hundred notable chefs participating throughout the years and drawing thousands to the heart of New York City.
Throughout the festival, taste Asia offered tasting from local restaurants including The Handpulled Noodle, Totto Ramen, Nyonya and Obao Noodles & BBQ. The two day event played a host to live cultural performances and demos including a special Dumpling Making & Eating Contest hosted by Cathy Erway, celebrated author of The Food of Taiwan and The Art of Eating In. New Yorkers competed for the "Dumpling Master" crown live on the Taste Asia stage. The trip to Asia includes all locations except Japan and Korea.
