PJ: What does success mean to you?
LF: Success is a word that is a combination of alignment of stars, happiness, serenity. A big factor of joy combined with being understood and welcomed for who you are. Success, in essence, is definitely not one entity. It's a combination of different things.
PJ: Who is the performer that you still would like to work with?
LF: There are a lot of people I adore! As a contemporary artist, I would definitely say, Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco.
+
PJ: How did you meet the famed Russian music producer Igor Krutoy?
LF: He came to see me at an Operetta in Moscow. He actually is the one who asked for the tickets and wanted to meet me. At the time, I met him with his sister. And ever since we've been friends, we've been working together.
+
PJ: Igor Krutoy introduced you to the Russian audience, to which they fell in love with you and your voice, what do you expect from your upcoming two weeks tour in Russia and Ukraine ?
LF: Well, [I expect] to reciprocate that affection and respect and to see them again. I'm very privileged to be able to go back year after year after year, after all these years. So you don't really expect anything when you're lucky enough to preserve an audience. I generally go there with gratitude and then they they they can expect me to give them what they deserve.
+
PJ: And do you usually like to spend time there?
LF: It's a very special and strange thing I've always felt. If we do believe in karma, I must have been Russian in another life -- something about my soul, the way I look at emotions, the way I am emotional. The way I’m deep and complex, I feel like this is very Russian. Sometimes, even if it's a language that I don’t speak, it's as if I understand it anyway.

LF: Of mine? Hmmm...I have two favorites - “Pas Sans Toi”, the French song that my fans adore, and “Broken Vow”.

PJ: Being such an exceptional professional and talented artist, what helped you to move forward in your career?
LF: I never lose sight of why I’m doing this. I never lose sight of the fact that it is a true, profound exchange between you and an audience.
And I've always said the moment I lose my joy, I'll stop. So, that's my barometer -- happiness.
PJ: When you perform on stage what do you think about when you have moments to speak to the audience? What message do you want to get across to your fans and those that came to see you perform for the first time?
LF: So what do I think about when I'm on stage? I don't think...I am.
I try to bring them here and I try to really being very incarnated in the moment and what I do and give in total honesty and transparency who I am.
You know, I think messages are very personal. I don't think you can really come across with a message. You can only share what your thoughts are or your experiences. I don't stand there to lecture or teach anything. I convey my feelings.
+
PJ: On this tour, I know that you're addressing people from the stage more than usual. It is kind of more intimate.
LF: Yeah well, that was the idea. The idea was, hey, let me tell you where I'm from, where I come from as a person. How was this whole thing triggered? Why am I still here after three decades? And what I've been through, you know, people have this tendency to believe what we do is all sunshine and fun and “divalicious”. Sometimes are desperate-licious as well. You know, we're human, so human. So sometimes it's good to say that within this extraordinary journey, there is a true amount of sacrifice and compromise that needs to be done.

PJ: What is your inspiration in life? Music?
LF: Love. L-O-V-E
+
PJ: What is your advice to young performers out there?
LF: Stand tight! (laughs) It's a very cruel world nowadays, music. Because no one has ever listened to so much music. I mean, it's never been that the experience of music is the highest ever made, people are consuming music to the highest level. But the economics behind this consumption is zero, because nowadays people think music is free. The reality is that it's not true. Music is not free to make, to promote, to market and to deliver on stage. Music is probably one of the most expensive things to do. But it's not anymore an equation that collides with what it costs. What you earn is never again what it costs. So very few are going to have the chance to pass through that screen. Unless you accept metamorphoses and unless you accept that the signal needs to be free and you try to pull in with you people that can help you make the signal effortless. It's possible! I have great technicians out! They are great people who know how to capture a signal, make a record with much less costs than we used to do.
But If you're from an old generation or if you wish to transform yourself from what was the music to today, you need to be really strongly prepared with the team. All schemes are gone, all those old paradigms are gone.

PJ: What is your favorite holiday? Favorite time of the year? Favorite cuisine? Favorite book?
LF: My favorite holiday is summertime with my family in Sicily.
LF: Joy
Enlightenment…people need to start seeing what needs to be done for this planet. So enlightenment in that sense, you know.
And serenity.
