Also, this book is dedicated to my mother, whose unwavering support and encouragement have been the foundation of my life's work, and to my family, friends, and loved ones, who have stood by me every step of the way.

And, of course, to the golden Lyon, the symbol of the king's power and legacy, which carried him to the heavens, may it continue to inspire and guide us all.

BOOK TITLE:

"An Impression Of Majesty, My Time with The Last Monarch of Rwanda King Kigeli V" by Olga Michaela Papkovitch.

CHAPTER 1.

As I sit down to write about my encounter with King Kigeli V, I am filled with a mix of emotions - gratitude, admiration, and a tinge of sadness. The memory of our meeting is still vivid in my mind, and I feel compelled to share it with the world.

I recall this whole experience vividly, Working with King Kigeli's secretary was a pleasure. I was following the royal Rwandan protocol, I prepared thoughtful questions for the king. The interview exceeded my expectations - King Kigeli was warm, engaging, and remarkably comfortable sharing his personal stories.

Kigeli V's warmth, kindness, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His dedication to his people and his country was inspiring, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.  The king's gesture means the world to me, and I'll always remember his graciousness and warmth. I'll continue to draw inspiration from his legacy and the beautiful country of Rwanda, and strive to make him proud.

It all started when I was standing on the beach, staring out at the sun, feeling the warm white sand between my toes and the sun on my skin. I had just finished a long swim, and I was lost in a deep meditating thought. My phone was lying next to me and I was about to put some meditation music on, and suddenly my phone rang, throwing me out of my meditational state and breaking the silence.

I picked it up, and it was King Kigeli's secretary Guye Pennington. I was surprised, to say the least. I had submitted my request for an interview over a months ago, and I hadn't heard back, so I had assumed it wasn't meant to be. But here he was, calling me to invite me to come to Washington D.C. to interview King Kigeli V himself! I was thrilled, but also a bit stunned. I mean, I was still in my bathing suit, dripping wet from my swim.

The secretary's warm tone put me at ease, and I could not help but feel grateful for this incredible opportunity. I quickly composed myself and told him that I would be there, of course.  I have already prepared the questions to ask the king, and starting imagining the stories he'll share, and the insights that the world will gain from this once-in-a-lifetime interview. As I  wrapped up the call, I glance around, taking in the serene beach scene, and feeling such appreciation for our Planets beauty and prosperity and life it has to offer all of us, and suddenly, I felt a deep sense of purpose. I quickly gathered my blankets, books and towel  and rushed  back to my beach house, and started to make my arrangements for my trip to D.C. The king is waiting, and I was ready to make a history.

Sometimes things happen so fast and they are life changing. I called my professional crew, Mikhail Veter, my Photographer and Videographer for PopImpressKA Journal and my stylist at the time Korrie Hayes. All of us were excited and thrilled to be a part of this historical interview with the Last King of Rwanda King Kigeli V.  We all were looking forward to meet King Kigeli V and hear his story. When we met, I was struck by the king's warmth and kindness. He was regal, yet approachable, and his presence commanded respect. I was impressed by his dedication to his people and his country, and his passion for preserving Rwanda's natural beauty was inspiring.. As an artist, I had always been fascinated by the rich cultural heritage of Rwanda, and the opportunity to meet its king was a dream come true.  The interview was amazing, and I felt like I was getting a glimpse into a whole new world.

As I look back on our meeting, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to have met such a remarkable human being. King Kigeli V was a beautiful soul, and his legacy will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life.

During our conversation, I shared my artwork with him, and he was kind enough to admire my talent. I gifted him a PopImpressKA shawl, a vibrant quilt adorned with colorful exotic birds and paintings, which he admired greatly. As we took King’s formal photo, I draped the shawl behind his chair, feeling an inexplicable connection between the colors and patterns of the fabric and the king's own vibrant spirit.

As we sat in the hotel lobby, I couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance of King Kigeli V to the ancient Egyptian pharaohs I had studied in history books. His tall, regal stature, chiseled features, and piercing eyes seemed to radiate an otherworldly aura, as if he had stepped out of the pages of ancient Egyptian tombs. I  expressed my admiration for his majestic presence, saying, "Your Majesty, you bear a striking resemblance to the great pharaohs of ancient Egypt. It's as if the bloodlines of Ramses and Tutankhamun flow through your veins."

King Kigeli V smiled graciously, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ah, my dear Olga," he said, "I have always believed that the ancient Egyptians and the kings of Rwanda share a common heritage, a shared ancestry that binds us across the ages. Our histories may have diverged, but the royal blood that courses through my veins is a testament to the great civilizations of Africa's past."

During our conversation, I shared my artwork with him, and King Kigeli V was kind enough to admire my talent. I gifted him a PopImpressKA shawl, a vibrant quilt adorned with colorful exotic birds and paintings, which he admired greatly. As my photographer Mikhail Veter took his formal photo, my stylist korrie Hayes and I I draped the shawl behind King’s chair, feeling an inexplicable connection between the colors and patterns of the fabric and the king's own vibrant spirit.

As I  noticed the gold pin on his formal jacket, featuring the Lyon symbol of his dynasty. The pin was a subtle yet powerful reminder of his royal lineage and the rich history of Rwanda. The Lyon, a symbol of strength and courage, reflected the values of the Nyiginya dynasty. King Kigeli V's connection to nature and wildlife was deeply rooted in his Rwandan heritage. As a member of the Nyiginya dynasty, he was raised with a profound respect for the land and its creatures. He often spoke about the importance of preserving Rwanda's natural beauty and protecting its wildlife, reflecting his commitment to conservation and environmental stewardship.

When I unfolded unfolded my PopImpressKA Art Couture shawl, King’s eyes widened with admiration, and he couldn't help but comment on the beauty of the artwork. "Ah, this is breathtaking!" he exclaimed, running his hand over the intricate patterns and colors. "Your talent is truly remarkable, Olga. The way you've captured the essence of these birds, the vibrancy of their feathers... it's as if they're about to take flight!"

I felt truly appreciated as an artist by The King. He asked me about the inspiration behind the shawl, and I was happy to share my story behind creating a PopImpressKA Art Couture Shawl from the print of my own paintings put together in a form of a painting quilt and printed together in a form of Kaleidoscopic Colorful Print. I shared my passion for animals, nature, our planet and that formed a deep bond in between us before we sat for the interview. So as we prepared to take the formal photo of The King, I  had a moment of inspiration. My stylist Korrie and I gently draped the shawl behind King Kigeli's chair, feeling an inexplicable connection between the colors and patterns of the fabric and the king's own vibrant spirit.

As the camera clicked, I couldn't help but feel that the shawl had become a part of the moment, a symbol of the king's own humanity and warmth. The colors of the birds and flowers seemed to dance across the fabric, echoing the king's bright and compassionate soul.

King Kigeli V noticed the gesture and smiled, his eyes glimpsed…. "Ah, Olga, you've captured the essence of my spirit," he said, his voice filled with gratitude. "This shawl, it's not just a beautiful piece of art – it's a reflection of the beauty within me."

In that moment everyone in the room felt a deep connection to the king, a sense of understanding that transcended words. The photo, with the shawl as a backdrop, would become a treasured keepsake, a reminder of the meeting of two kindred spirits.

With his counselor translating from Kinyarwanda to English, our conversation flowed effortlessly. The king's demeanor put me at ease, and our discussion lasted much longer than anticipated. He generously shared insights into his life, experiences, and perspectives, offering a unique glimpse into his world.

The counselor's translation allowed for a seamless exchange, and I was struck by the king's warmth and willingness to connect. It was clear he valued the opportunity to share his story and connect with someone interested in Rwandan culture and history. The experience left a lasting impression, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have spoken with him.

As I sat across from King Kigeli V of Rwanda, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the rich history and lineage that unfolded before me. Born Jean-Baptiste Ndahindurwa on June 29, 1936, in Kamembe, Rwanda, King Kigeli V was the last ruling monarch of Rwanda, reigning from 1959 to 1961.

"I was just four years old when my father, King Yuhi V Musinga, was exiled by the Belgian government to Moba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo," King Kigeli V recalled, his eyes clouding over with memories. "It was a difficult time for our family, but my father's legacy and teachings have stayed with me to this day."

The lineage of Rwandan kings dates back to the 14th century, with the founding of the Nyiginya dynasty in 1147 CE. King Kigeli V's ancestors include notable monarchs such as Mutara II of Rwanda and Kigeli IV of Rwanda

"I remember my brother, King Mutara III Rudahigwa, who ruled before me," King Kigeli V said, his voice filled with nostalgia. "He was a wise and just leader, and his sudden death in 1959 was a shock to our nation."

King Kigeli V's reign was marked by turmoil and conflict, as Rwanda struggled for independence from Belgian colonial rule. Despite his efforts to maintain peace and stability, he was eventually forced into exile in 1961.

"I have always considered myself a father to all Rwandans, regardless of their ethnicity or background," King Kigeli V emphasized. "My goal has been to promote unity and reconciliation, and to help my people heal from the wounds of the past."

As our conversation drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to hear King Kigeli V's story. His legacy serves as a reminder of the importance of leadership, compassion, and perseverance in the face of adversity.

CHAPTER 2.

"I was just a young boy when I was chosen to be the next king," King Kigeli V recalled, a hint of wonder still in his voice. "I remember the day vividly - it was July 25, 1959, and I was just 23 years old. My brother, King Mutara III Rudahigwa, had passed away suddenly, and the royal council had to convene to choose his successor."

According to tradition, the royal council, composed of high-ranking officials and members of the royal family, would gather to select the next king from among the eligible princes. The selection process was shrouded in mystery, with the council members believed to be guided by the will of the gods.

"I was not expecting to be chosen," King Kigeli V admitted. "I was a young man, studying in Belgium, and had not even considered the possibility of becoming king. But the council had made their decision, and I was summoned to return to Rwanda to assume the throne."

The lineage of Rwandan kings dates back to the 14th century, with the founding of the Nyiginya dynasty in 1147 CE. King Kigeli V's ancestors include notable monarchs such as Mutara II of Rwanda and Kigeli IV of Rwanda.

"I remember feeling both thrilled and terrified at the same time," King Kigeli V said, his eyes sparkling with memories. "I knew that being king was not just a privilege, but a great responsibility. I had to put aside my own desires and ambitions and dedicate myself to serving my people."

CHAPTER 3:

As I sat with King Kigeli V, I couldn't help but ask about the stories I had heard about his daring escape from Rwanda in 1961. He smiled, a mischievous giggles in his eye, and began to recount the tale.

"It was a time of great turmoil," he began. "The country was in upheaval, and my life was in danger. I knew I had to escape, but it wouldn't be easy. The roads were being watched, and the borders were closely guarded."

King Kigeli V explained that he had to think quickly, and so he turned to a trusted advisor, a woman who had been a loyal servant to the royal family for many years. She had an idea - disguise the king as a woman, and smuggle him out of the country.

"I was hesitant at first," King Kigeli V chuckled. "I had never worn a dress in my life! But I knew it was our only chance."

The woman, whose name was Mama Katu, set to work, gathering fabric and sewing a beautiful, intricately designed dress. She styled King Kigeli's hair, adorning it with beads and jewelry, and taught him how to walk and carry himself like a woman.

"I felt ridiculous, but I also felt a sense of freedom," King Kigeli V laughed. "I was no longer the king, I was just another woman, trying to make her way in the world."

As night fell, King Kigeli V, dressed as a woman, set out into the darkness, accompanied by Mama Katu and a small group of trusted guards. They made their way through the winding roads and forests, avoiding detection by the soldiers and rebels who were searching for the king.

At one point, they were stopped by a group of soldiers, who demanded to know who they were and where they were going. Mama Katu stood tall, speaking confidently and convincingly, and the soldiers, deceived by King Kigeli's disguise, let them pass.

"It was a harrowing experience," King Kigeli V said, his eyes serious now. "But it was also a reminder of the power of courage and quick thinking. We were able to outwit our enemies, and make our way to safety."

King Kigeli V eventually made his way to Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he would spend the next several decades in exile, working tirelessly to promote peace and reconciliation in Rwanda.

As he finished the story, I couldn't help but smile, imagining the king, dressed as a woman, bravely navigating the dangers of the night, his spirit unbroken.

King Kigeli V's journey to America began in 1992, when he fled Rwanda due to fear for his life. He was granted political asylum in the United States and settled in Oakton, Virginia, where he lived for over two decades. During his time in exile, King Kigeli V continued to advocate for the welfare of Rwandan refugees and worked to maintain the cultural heritage of his royal lineage.

Some of our conversation was between the takes but our talented videograoher Mikhail Veter was brilliant in catching the Unique Story while recording this Interview.

CHAPTER 4:

As I reflected on my conversation with King Kigeli V, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had just experienced something truly special. The weight of history, the richness of tradition, and the warmth of a kind soul had all come together in a way that left me feeling both humbled and inspired.

As I packed up my notes and prepared to leave, I noticed a faint hint of weariness in King Kigeli's eyes. It was a look that I had seen before, a look that spoke of a lifetime of service, of struggles and triumphs, of joy and sorrow. But there was something else, something that I couldn't quite put my finger on, a sense of... finality.

It wasn't until later, when I received the news of King Kigeli's passing, that I realized the significance of that moment. My interview had been his last, a final chance to share his story, to pass on his wisdom, and to leave behind a legacy that would endure long after he was gone.

I felt a pang of sadness, knowing that I had been one of the last people to speak with him, to hear his words, and to look into his eyes. But even in death, King Kigeli's spirit remained strong, his message of unity, reconciliation, and peace continuing to resonate with me, and with the world, long after he was gone.

As I looked back on our conversation, I realized that King Kigeli had left me with a gift, a reminder of the power of storytelling, of the importance of preserving our history, and of the enduring legacy of those who have come before us.

My thoughts, unspoken:

- I wish I had asked him more about his life in exile, about the struggles he faced, and the lessons he learned.

- I wish I had had more time to explore the complexities of Rwandan history, to understand the intricacies of the royal lineage, and to grasp the full weight of his legacy.

- I wish I had been able to thank him, to express my gratitude for the opportunity to hear his story, and to acknowledge the impact he had on my own life.

But most of all, I wish I had known, in that moment, that it was his last interview, his final chance to share his story with the world.

Sadly, King Kigeli V passed away on October 16, 2016, at the age of 80, in a hospital in Washington, D.C.. Following his death, there was a dispute among his family members over where he should be buried. After a court ruling, it was decided that he would be buried in Rwanda, his homeland.

The king's body was finally laid to rest in Rwanda on November 15, 2016, after arriving in Kigali on an Ethiopian Airlines flight. The burial ceremony took place in Nyanza district, the ancestral resting place of Rwandan kings. This marked the end of an era, as King Kigeli V was the last ruling monarch of Rwanda.

CHAPTER 5:

As I remember the moment vividly, I walked into the lobby of the hotel in Washington D.C., I was struck by the regal presence of King Kigeli V. He stood tall, his height commanding attention, and his warm smile put me at ease. As he shook my hand, I felt a sense of awe wash over me. It was as if I was meeting a true monarch, a descendant of ancient kings.

His handshake was firm, yet gentle, and his eyes sparkled with kindness. For a moment, I felt like I was transported to a different era, one of grandeur and majesty. It was as if I was greeting a pharaoh, an ancient king of old lost kingdom, who had stepped out of the pages of history and into the present.

I recall thinking, "This is a true leader, a man of dignity and grace." His presence was both commanding and humble, putting me at ease despite the formality of the occasion. It was clear that this was a man who carried himself with the weight of his office, yet was approachable and kind.

As I looked into his eyes, I saw warmth, intelligence, and a deep sense of compassion. It was a moment I will never forget, a moment that left an indelible mark on my heart

I felt a presene of A priest King, the One who loves Our Creator and Follows Gold Rules of our Ancient True Universe. His Majesty mentioned his deep love for God and His favorite book is Bible. His Faith led him to be a true and Just Ruler, the One that wants to see His Country Prosper and His People live well by a Just Rule of Kindness and Compassion of their True Monarch.

As I did my research of the African Rwandan kings, their height and structure and their descendants from ancients Pharos in Egypt and found a very interesting connection from ancient Rulers of this Planet.

My thoughts: Let's dive into the connections between Rwandan kings, their physical characteristics, and their potential links to ancient Egyptian pharaohs.

Rwanda's royal lineage dates back to the 14th century, with the Nyiginya dynasty being one of the most prominent. King Kigeli V, the last ruling monarch, played a significant role in Rwandan history.

*Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs*

In contrast, ancient Egyptian pharaohs have well-documented physical characteristics. The average height of pharaohs was around 166 cm (5.44 feet), with some notable exceptions:

- *Ramses II*: approximately 175 cm (5.7 feet) tall

- *Tutankhamun*: around 169 cm (5.5 feet) tall

- *Akhenaten*: about 167-168 cm (5.4-5.5 feet) tall

*Inbreeding and Physical Characteristics*

King Kigeli V of Rwanda was reportedly quite tall, standing at around 7 feet 2 inches (218 cm) tall. He was known for his impressive height, which made him stand out in crowds, and was often described as a gentle giant. Despite his physical stature, he was known for his kindness, humility, and dedication to his people.

Research suggests that ancient Egyptian royalty practiced inbreeding, which may have affected their physical characteristics. A 2015 study found little variation in body height among pharaohs, indicating extensive inbreeding ¹.

*Connection to Rwandan Kings*

While there's no direct evidence linking Rwandan kings to ancient Egyptian pharaohs, some theories suggest that the Nyiginya dynasty may have originated from the Great Lakes region, with possible connections to ancient civilizations in East Africa.

As he shook my hand, I felt a shiver run down my spine, a sense of connection to the ancient bloodlines of Africa's most powerful kingdoms. I couldn't help but express my admiration for his majestic presence, saying, "Your Majesty, you bear a striking resemblance to the great pharaohs of ancient Egypt.

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of awe at the prospect of being in the presence of a living link to Africa's glorious history. "Your Majesty, it's an honor to meet a king who embodies the spirit of Africa's ancient pharaohs. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come."

As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel that I had caught a glimpse of something profound, a connection to the ancient past that transcended borders and time itself.

Keep in mind that historical records on Rwandan kings are limited, and more research is needed to establish a definitive connection between Rwandan and Egyptian royal.

"A true leader is not one who seeks power, but one who seeks to serve"-

King Kigeli V.

EPILOGUE:

As I look back on our meeting, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to have met such a remarkable human being. King Kigeli V, who was a beautiful soul, and his legacy will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life.

As I close this chapter of my life, I am reminded of the king's words: "A true leader is not one who seeks power, but one who seeks to serve." May his memory continue to inspire and guide me, and may his legacy live on through the countless lives he touched, including mine.

Just a week before he passed away, King Kigeli V bestowed upon me the incredible honor of Dame Officer of Grand Cross of the Lyon, the Royal Order of the Lion of Rwanda (DOOSJ). It's a title that I'll cherish forever, a reminder of the king's kindness and recognition of my work. The Grand Order of the Lion of Rwanda (or Royal Order of the Lion) is a dynastic honor from the de jure Rwandan monarchy, representing bravery and leadership, stemming from ancient warrior traditions like the Umudende ceremony where warriors earned iron necklaces and lion pelts for slaying enemies, now upheld by the Royal House of Rwanda, led by King Yuhi VI, for cultural preservation, recognizing individuals for service to Rwandan heritage, with recipients often getting the title "Grand Cross of the Order of the Lion" (GCLR). The Carrier of the Order His/her Excellency also considering his/her humanitarian work for the Well being of our Planet.

In my Impression of Life being after death is Possible and Who takes us there?

So, as my Impression goes, the golden Lyon pin on King Kigeli's jacket begins to shimmer, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. As I watch, the pin transforms, growing larger and more majestic, until it becomes a magnificent, winged creature.

The Lyon's wings, a radiant golden hue, stretch out to the sides, their feathers gliding softly through the air. With a gentle nudge, the creature lifts King Kigeli V from his throne, supporting him as he ascends into the heavens.

As they rise, the Lyon's wings beat with a soft, ethereal rhythm, carrying the king higher and higher, until he disappears into the clouds. The last glimpse I see is of King Kigeli V, his arms outstretched, a serene smile on his face, as the golden Lyon soars upwards, carrying him to the realm of the gods.

In this moment, I am reminded of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, who were said to ride the horse chariots of the Gods to the afterlife. The golden Lyon, a symbol of the king's power and legacy, has become his vehicle to the heavens, carrying him to a realm where his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who remain.

As I stand there, lost in wonder, I feel the warmth of the shawl, still draped over the chair, its vibrant colors seeming to pulse with a life of their own. I know that the king's spirit lives on, and that I will carry the memory of our encounter with me forever.

As the golden Lyon disappears into the heavens, I am left with a sense of peace, knowing that King Kigeli V has joined the ranks of the great leaders of history. The shawl, now empty, seems to shimmer with a life of its own, its colors more vibrant than ever. I feel the king's presence around me, a gentle reminder of the incredible encounter I was privileged to have.

And again as I mentioned before: "This book is dedicated to the memory of King Kigeli V Ndahindurwa, a true leader, a kind soul, and a shining star in the constellation of humanity. May his legacy continue to inspire and guide us, and may his story be told for generations to come. Also, this book is dedicated to my family, friends, and loved ones, who have supported me on this journey, and to all those who have been touched by the king's kindness and generosity". -Olga Michaela Papkovitch

And, of course, this book is dedicated to the golden Lyon, the symbol of the king's power and legacy, which carried him to the heavens, may it continue to inspire and guide us all. May the spirit of King Kigeli V live on, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.

King Kigeli V Ndahindurwa was a striking figure, known for his regal presence and dignified demeanor. He was the last ruling King of Rwanda, reigning from 1959 to 1961. As for myself and others, it's clear he left a lasting impression on those who met him.

Spending a day with the monarch, I recall my feeling of being deeply moved by his warmth and kindness. I gifted the King a vibrant PopImpressKA Art Couture shawl, adorned with colorful exotic birds and paintings, which he admired greatly. The shawl became a symbol of our bond and love to animals and our mutual connection to nature, as I draped it behind his chair during the formal photo, feeling an inexplicable bond between the colors and patterns and the king's own vibrant spirit.

My encounter with King Kigeli V was a memorable one, and his legacy continues to inspire me.

Our Planet is a treasure that is given to our Humanity by Our Creator, Our gift is being born here and we are responsible how we treat each other with empathy and compassion for humans, animals, plants, various living organisms that develop our planet to thrive and do better, to honor our Galactical guests who come here with Love and Peace and empathy to see our Gaia and share their knowledge and learn a new experience through All of Us here on Planet Earth.

We are part of this Huge Universe and we are part of the Cosmic Order and each one of us is a reminder of a Great Architect that made this experience for all of us Possible. Glory to Our Creator and all beings that love and seek to serve each other for the Highest Good of All. We are on our Highest Timeline Now".
